Wesson archers place first in five events

The Wesson archery team represented Co-Lin well in the Mississippi Community College Archery State Championships last month.

The team had individuals place first in Bare Bow Men, Bare Bow Women, Bow Hunter Women, Bow Hunter Men, and Open Men divisions. Austin Smith earned the first place honors in Bare Bow Men with a score of 186. Kryslynne Poole took the women's honors with a 153. Brook Brister finished third in the event with a 130. Meagan Jones claimed the top spot in the Bob Hunter category with a 161, while the men swept the podium in the men's Bow Hunter division with Jim Guess winning first place after a 193, while Caleb Weeks and Dalton West finished in second and third after shooting a 176 and 174, respectively. Co-Lin's Ben Martin also placed sixth in the event. Samuel Carraway rounded out the first place honors with a 168 in the open category.
