Wolves win season opener against St. Louis Community College

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves opened the 2018 season with a 2-0 win over St. Louis Community College. The Wolves outhit the Archers six to five on the day.

It was a pitchers duel for the first three innings before Co-Lin's Ryan Zimmerman ripped a double to right field. Zimmerman rounded the bases on an error by the Archers catcher.

The Wolves pushed another across later in the inning when Hayden White reached on an error. The ground ball scored Austin O'Flynn who reached base with a single earlier in the inning.

Christian Day was credited with the victory for the Wolves. He went five innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out three.  Justin Hutton threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Hutton recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Co-Lin.

Jack Kane took the loss for St. Louis. He allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out two.

Co-Lin totaled six hits in the game, led by Zimmerman and Craig Bradley who each racked up multiple hits.
