Williams goes 6-for-6, earns MACJC Player of the Week

WESSON, Miss. – Jaylyn Williams, a sophomore from Greenville, Miss., posted incredible numbers at the plate last week as the Wolves defeated Southwest Community College, 13-11, in the opening game of the Coca-Cola Challenge and swept Highland Community College, 6-1, 12-2.

Williams was 6-for-6 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBIs, and scored eight runs. The speedy sophomore also swiped three bags and did not get caught stealing on the base paths all week. Williams also stood tall in the box all week as he was hit by pitch four times and drew two walks. On the week he posted a 1.000 batting average, 1.000 on-base percentage, and a staggering 2.333 slugging percentage.

When asked about his success Williams simply responded, "I can only give it to the Man above for blessing me with the ability to play the game."

Williams is batting .414 on the season and leading the Wolves with three home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .828 slugging percentage.
