Nine Wolves Sign with Senior Colleges

WESSON – The Co-Lin Baseball team recently had nine sophomores sign with senior colleges to continue their athletic and academic careers. Isaac McClenty and Braden Freeman will be going to Jackson State University while Braydon Evans and Jon David Weed will be attending Belhaven University. Coby Gollott will be going to Mississippi College, Sam Thomas is headed to Millsaps College, while Jordan McKenzie will be attending Loyola New Orleans. Andin Bolen is headed to the University of Mobile, and Connor Pittman will be going to the Univeristy of Memphis.

"I'm extremely excited for each of these guys," stated Co-Lin head coach Adam Chamblee. "Good things happen to good people and each of these guys deserve this opportunity."

Isaac McClenty, a native of Ridgeland, Mississippi, has played in 47 career games primarily as an outfielder/designated hitter for the Wolves. McClenty has a career .286 batting average with five doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs, 23 runs scored and seven stolen bases. He also has a career .317 on-base percentage, a .429 slugging percentage, and a .978 fielding percentage with just one error over his two seasons.

Braden Freeman, a native of Terry, Mississippi, has played in 24 career games for the Wolves. Freeman has a career, 269 average with seven hits, one RBI, one stolen base and 12 runs scored. He also has a career .321 on-base percentage and a .269 slugging percentage.

Braydon Evans, a native of Florence, Mississippi, has played in 60 career games as a platoon member of the battery for the Wolves. He has a career .134 batting average with three doubles, five RBIs, two stolen bases, and 18 runs scored. Evans also holds a career .316 on-base percentage, a .157 slugging percentage, and a .975 fielding percentage while also throwing out 20 baserunners across two seasons.

JD Weed, a native of Terry, Mississippi, has played in all 50 games as the primary left fielder in his lone season with the Wolves. Weed has a .327 batting average with ten doubles, three triples, three home runs, 26 RBIs, 14 stolen bases, and 33 runs scored. He has a .441 on-base percentage, .484 slugging percentage, and .968 fielding percentage with just three errors on the season.

Coby Gollott, a native of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, has made 41 career appearances with ten starts as a pitcher over the last two seasons for the Wolves. Gollott has an overall record of 9-6 with five saves while pitching 121 innings. He has a career 3.64 earned run average while allowing 64 runs, 49 earned, on 113 hits with 37 walks and 132 strikeouts. Gollot has a career whip of 1.24, a 9.82 strikeouts per nine innings pitched rate, and a .241 batting average against.

Sam Thomas, a native of Madison, Mississippi, has played in 63 games for the Wolves primarily as an infielder. Thomas has a career .262 batting average with eight doubles, four home runs, 22 RBIs, 24 runs scored, and three stolen bases. He has a .339 on-base percentage and a .381 slugging percentage.

Jordan McKenzie, a native of Franklinton, Louisiana, has played in 86 career games for the Wolves primarily as an infielder with 12 appearances as a pitcher across two seasons. McKenzie has a career .270 with 13 doubles, two triples, four home runs, 39 RBIs, 41 runs scored, and seven stolen bases. He has a career .379 on-base percentage, .364 slugging percentage while also posting 21 strikeouts in 27.2 innings pitched.

Andin Bolen, a native of Lucedale, Mississippi, has made 28 career appearances with 14 starts as a pitcher for the Wolves. Bolen has an overall record of 8-4 with 98.2 innings pitched and a career era of 3.19. Bolen has allowed 59 runs in his career with 35 of those earned on 85 hits with 59 walks and 99 strikeouts. He has a career whip of 1.46, a 9.03 strikeouts per nine innings pitched rate, and a .228 batting average against.

Connor Pittman, a native of Waynesboro, Mississippi, has made 29 career appearances with with 23 starts as a pitcher for the Wolves. Pittman has an overall career record of 11-9 with one save and five complete games. Pittman has a career era of 3.79 allowing 83 runs over 140 innings pitched with 59 of those earned on 128 hits with 55 walks and 154 strikeouts. He has a career whip of 1.31, a 9.90 strikeouts per nine innings pitched rate, and a .237 batting average against.

"Not only has this group accomplished an individual goal of theirs by playing at the senior college level, but they have also helped our team clinch a playoff berth which is a team goal that we have talked about all season," added Chamblee.

The Co-Lin Baseball team finished the 2024 regular season with an overall record of 27-25, 15-13 in conference play, and clinched their first postseason berth since the 2021 season.
