Co-Lin looks to bounce back in Booneville

WESSON, Miss. – The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves are on the road for the second week in a row as Co-Lin travels to Booneville on Thursday to take on the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers for a week two matchup. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 in Tiger Stadium. Thursday's contest is the 24^th meeting between the two programs dating back to 1968. Co-Lin currently leads the all-time series 18-5 including wins in the last four matchups. Co-Lin (0-1) fell to Holmes last week in a heartbreaking, 29-28, loss to a late-game field goal, while Northeast (0-1) fell to Southwest in Summit 33-28. The Wolves' offensive attack was very efficient in the opening half of play last week as Co-Lin racked up 234 total yards in the first two quarters, including 155 passing yards from Hayden Davis. That offensive production slowed in the second half in both the rushing and passing attack.

Co-Lin's running game was split between Rico Owens and Deion Dampier who posted 42 and 37 yards respectively. Both sophomores also had one touchdown on the ground a week ago. Davis spread the ball around well in the passing game with nine different Wolves making receptions. Antoine Robinson and Kundarrius Taylor both posted receiving touchdowns against Holmes.

Defensively, the Wolves gave up 423 yards to the Bulldogs, with the majority of that coming from Holmes' option-based rushing attack. Despite the yardage, several Co-Lin players had standout games including Swayze Bozeman who led the way with 13 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one forced fumble, Jakaiszer Glass who wrapped up 10 tackles, Taijh Alston who posted nine tackles and forced a fumble, and Kobe Wren who had nine tackles and one fumble recovery. Another notable performance was Jordan Davis' nine tackles. The Wolves forced four fumbles on the day as a team.

Northeast's quarterback, Zac Oden, had 45 pass attempts last week and connected on 19 for 169 yards. The freshman threw three touchdown passes but also had three interceptions. On the ground, Zykeris Mosley and Jalen Cobbs led the Tigers. Mosley had 145 yards and a score on 16 touches while Cobbs had 86 yards on 18 rushes. Montel Gladney led the Tiger's receiving corps with seven receptions for 61 yards and one score.

On the defensive side, Sam Williams led the Tigers with 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. The Tigers forced three fumbles in the contest and had a staggering 15 tackles for loss.
