Hayden Hill named MACCC Player of the Week

JACKSON, Miss. - Sophomore linebacker Hayden Hill got the nod for defensive MACCC Player of the Week honors on Tuesday after a stellar game against the East Central Community College Warriors last Thursday night. The Northwest Ranking High School graduate wrapped up a career-best 17 tackles, eight solo and nine assists, in the contest. The effort topped his previous career-high 12 tackles that came against Mississippi Gulf Coast last season.

"Our defensive coordinator, coach [William] Jones, just put me in the right place, and I just did my job," said Hill. "I have to give most of the credit to our defensive linemen upfront though, for keeping the big guys off of me which allowed me to make plays."

Not only did Hill rack up on tackles, but the sophomore also posted one sack for five yards, three tackles for loss for a total of 12 yards, and broke up a pass. Despite the performance, the Wolves fell to the Warriors in overtime, 13-10, which moved Co-Lin to 2-1 on the year. Co-Lin is off this week before traveling to Ellisville next Thursday, November 12 to face the Bobcats. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
