Wolves fall to No. 3 Pearl River

WESSON, Miss. - The Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College fell to the No. 3 Pearl River Community College Wildcats Monday, 102-59, to drop to 3-5, 0-1 on the year. The win improves the Wildcats to 8-0, 1-0. Co-Lin is back in action this Thursday, December 12 as the Wolves host the Delgado Dolphins in Wesson. Gametime is set for 7:30 p.m. and fans can follow along with the action at colinathletics.com/listen or at WMJU 104.3 FM in Brookhaven. 

The action was tight for the first minutes of the contest as the teams played physical basketball on both ends of the floor. Midway through the opening half the Wildcats led by just one, 14-13, with 13:30 remaining in the half. The Wildcats pulled away later in the half with a 10-0 run that grew their lead to 10. The Wolves were unable to close that gap going into the half. 

Cameron Woodall led the Wolves in the scoring column with 11 points, while Darius Kent poured in 10 after going 2-for-4 from three-point range. JD Allen led the Wolves in rebounds with four, while Tyree Lomax and Dajon Whitworth posted three assists each. Tae Hardy led Pearl River with 28 points, while Rodgerick Brown scored 20. Isaih Moore led PRCC with 10 boards. 

The Wolves shot 36 percent (20-of-56) from the floor, 31 percent (8-of-26) from three-point range, and 58 percent (11-of-19) from the free-throw line. The Wildcats shot 56 percent (41-of-73) from the floor, 39 percent (9-of-23) from downtown, and 65 percent (11-of-17) from the stripe. PRCC outrebounded Co-Lin 56 to 23.
