Wolves Stumble Against Tigers

BOONEVILLE – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team returned to action with a road contest in non-conference action against Northeast Mississippi on Monday, November 29. The Tigers beat the Wolves by a final of 99-83.

 The Tigers led the contest from wire-to-wire as they used a big first half to take a 56-35 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. The trend continued throughout the second half as the Tigers expanded the lead to 28 points with just over six minutes remaining. However, the Wolves would not give up and fought throughout the contest but could not overcome the Tigers despite outscoring them, 48-43, in the second half as the Tigers took the contest by a final of 99-83.

Sophomore forward Kareeme Davis (Trenton, N.J.) had a big night for the Wolves as he led the way with 31 points and two rebounds. Sophomore guards Kedarius Stampley (Fayette) and Jordan Marshall had 12 and ten points respectively with Stampley adding three rebounds and Marshall adding seven. Sophomore center Cole Chapman (White Bear Lake, Minn.) also added ten points on the night and led the team in rebounds with nine.

Freshman guard Constantine Morant (Hancock) had eight points, while sophomore guards Jemario Hersey (Brookhaven) and Cameron Butler (Vicksburg) added five points apiece, and freshman guard Gideon Peacock (Jackson) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

The Wolves are now 2-5 overall and will return to action with their conference opener on the road against Southwest Mississippi on Thursday, December 2. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
