Wolves Drop Contest to Indians

FULTON – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team took to the road to face off against Itawamba on Monday, February 7. The Indians beat the Wolves by a final of 78-64.

The Wolves led for much of the first half, but the Indians were able to tie the game on a late buzzer beating put back basket making the score 34-34 at halftime. The Indians used a strong effort on both sides of the ball in the second half to outscore the Wolves by a margin of 44-30 and secure the 78-64 win.

Sophomore guard Lerenzo Fort III (Jackson) led the way for the Wolves in both points and rebounds with 34 and seven respectively along with one assist. This was the second straight 30+ point scoring game for Trey and has scored 20+ points in four straight games along with 15 of 16 games played this season.

Sophomore guard Jordan Marshall (Raymond) had 12 points with two rebounds and one assist while sophomore forward AJ Warnsley (Byram) added eight points with five rebounds and one block. Sophomore guard Jemario Hersey (Brookhaven) had six points with three rebounds, one assist, and one block while sophomore centers Cole Chapman (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Robert Finklea (Biloxi) had two points each to round out the scoring for the Wolves. Finklea also had two rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Co-Lin is now 6-13 overall and 3-8 in conference play. The Wolves will return to action hosting Meridian on Thursday, February 10. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m., at Mullen Gym.
