Wolves Drop Contest to Bulldogs

PERKINSTON – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team took to the road to face off against Gulf Coast on Monday, February 14. The Bulldogs beat the Wolves by a final of 101-91.

The Bulldogs used a strong offensive showing in the first half to take a 56-40 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. Despite a strong showing in the second half by the Wolves including outscoring the Bulldogs, 51-45, the large halftime deficit could not be overcome as the Wolves could only cut down the Bulldogs lead to as low as eight points late in the second half securing the win for the Bulldogs.

Sophomore guard Jemario Hersey (Brookhaven) led the Wolves offense as he scored a season and Wolves-career high 27 points which led all scorers in the game. Hersey also had nine rebound, one assist, and two steals. Sophomore forward AJ Warnsley (Byram) earned his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three assists, one steal, and one block. Freshman guard Constatine Morant (Hancock) had 11 points with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Sophomore center Cole Chapman (White Bear Lake, Minn.) had eight points with four rebounds and one assist, sophomore guard Cameron Butler (Vicksburg) had seven points with four rebounds, a team-leading five assists, and one steal, while sophomore guards Lerenzo Fort III (Jackson) and Kedarius Stampley had six points each with Stampley adding three rebounds and three assists. Sophomore guard Jordan Marshall (Raymond) had three points with two assists while sophomore forward Kareeme Davis (Trenton, N.J.), freshman guard Grevaughn Goodman (Miami, Fla.), and sophomore center Robert Finklea (Biloxi) had two points apiece to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin is now 6-15 overall and 3-10 in conference play. The Wolves will close out the 2022 regular season with a home conference game against Northwest on Thursday, February 17. It will be Pink Night and Sophomore Night for the Wolves with tip-off set for 6 p.m.
