Wolves Dominate Dolphins for Fourth Straight Win

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team returned to action with a road contest against Delgado on Thursday, November 17. The Wolves led wire-to-wire in a dominant showing for a 97-75 victory over the Dolphins.

The Wolves flexed their muscles early in the opening minutes of the game as they went on an 11-2 scoring run to hold the lead at that margin with just over 17 minutes of play remaining in the first half. The Dolphins responded with a 16-13 run to cut into the Wolves lead over the next few minutes, as the margin stood at 24-18 with just under ten minutes left. The Wolves were dominant on both sides of the court in the final minutes of the half as they closed on a 24-11 scoring run to take a 48-29 lead into the locker rooms at halftime.

The second half saw the Wolves and Dolphins play closer in terms of scoring margin as the Wolves outscored the Dolphins 49-46; however, the Dolphins never came closer than 11 points to the Wolves. The Wolves grew their lead to as much as 28 points throughout the second half en route to the 97-75 victory.

For the second straight contest, the Wolves had five players hit double-digit scoring figures as sophomore forward AJ Warnsley (Byram) led the team with 20 points. Freshman forward Dylan Canoville (Plantation, FL) had 15 points and led the team in rebound with seven. Sophomore guards Jemario Hersey (Brookhaven) and Cowandric Samuel (Jackson) had 15 and 11 points respectively while sophomore forward Kaeden Laws (Southaven) had 10 points. Canoville also had seven rebounds to his night while Warnsley and Samuel had five rebounds each with Laws adding six rebounds during the contest.

Sophomore guard Andrew Anderson (Hattiesburg) had eight points and five rebounds while sophomore guard Jahvon Smith (Hallandale, FL) had seven points and led the Wolves in assists and steals with 10 and three in the respective categories. Freshman guard Deandre Brisco (Indianola) and freshman forward Chandler Hodges (Mathiston) had three points each and freshman guard Anterrian Hawkins (Hollandale) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin improves to 4-2 overall and returns to action with a road contest against LSU-Eunice on Saturday, November 19. Tip-off between the Bengals and the Wolves is set for 2 p.m., in Eunice.
