Wolves Win Seventh Straight Conference Game

CLARKSDALE – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team returned to action with a road game against MACCC foe Coahoma on Saturday, February 11. The Wolves overcame a slow start offensively and beat the Tigers, 90-70.

The first half saw the Wolves sputter out the gates offensively but quickly got on track and took hold of the game. The Wolves ultimately held a 43-37 lead over the Tigers as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime. The second half saw the Wolves continue to flex their muscles as they never let the Tigers get close to taking the lead and outscored them, 47-33, to secure the 90-70 win.

Sophomore forward AJ Warnsley (Byram) led the Wolves offensively with 22 points and narrowly missed a double-double performance with eight rebounds along with one assist and one steal. For the second time this week, sophomore guard Cowandric Samuel (Jackson) almost had a triple-double as he posted 20 points, seven rebounds, and a team-leading six assists. Sophomore guard Jemario Hersey (Brookhaven) had 15 points while freshman forward Dylan Canoville (Plantation, Fla.) posted his second double-double of the week with 13 points and 12 rebounds along with one steal and one block. Sophomore forward Kaeden Laws (Southaven) had 12 points along with five rebounds, one assist, and one block.

Sophomore guard Andrew Anderson (Hattiesburg) had six points and freshman forward Justin Adams-Johnson (Hazlehurst) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin is now 14-5 overall, 8-2 in conference play and will return to action hosting Itawamba on Monday, February 13. Tip-off between the Indians and the Wolves is set for 6 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
