Wolves Storm Past Jaguars

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team returned to action hosting Southern University-Shreveport. The Wolves beat the Jaguars, 96-86.

The Wolves used strong effort on both ends of the court in the first half outscoring the Jaguars, 49-38, to hold the lead at that margin at halftime. The Wolves carried that momentum into the second half and held off the Jaguars despite being outscored, 48-47, securing the 96-86 victory.

Devin Carter (Edwards) led the Wolves offensively with 33 points with seven rebounds, one assist, and two steals while Courterius Scott (Jackson) had 17 points with one rebound, three assists, and a team-leading three steals. Emmanuel James (Nigeria) picked up his third-straight double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds with one block while Avaughn Johnson (Jackson) had 12 points with seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Jamarion Smith (Magnolia) and Kaison Saunders (Olive Branch) had four points apiece while Corey Brown (Roxie) and Dakota Hillard (Hazlehurst) had three points each. Ismail Rashid (Jackson), Will Grayson (Yazoo City), and Jayden Jackson (Camden) had two points each to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin improves to 5-2 overall and will return to action hosting Holmes on Monday, December 4. Tip-off between the Bulldogs and the Wolves is set for 7:30 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
