Wolfpack finish fourth, Smith captures All-Tournament honors

AMORY – Zachary Smith shot a two-day total of 147 (72-75) to finish in fourth place at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Event #5 held at Riverbirch Country Club in Amory. Smith, a sophomore from Madison, was also named to the All-Tournament Team.

"Right now, Zach is really striking the ball," said Co-Lin golf coach Ronny Ross. "If he putts well, he will be hard to beat."

Meridian won the tournament with a blistering 5-over par 581. Coming in a distant second was East Central with a 631 followed by Itawamba at 632, Co-Lin at 636, Hinds at 645, and East Mississippi at 688.

For Co-Lin, individually behind Smith were Cameron Little at 157 (83-74), Lucas Brewer at 166 (82-84), Bryce Chapman at 166, Matthew Scoville at 172 (88-84), and Bragg Eplin at 174 (93-81).

The Wolfpack will play in the MACJC State Tournament hosted by East Central Community College on April 12-13, at Dancing Rabbit Country Club in Philadelphia.
