Hennington takes reigns of Co-Lin golf team

WESSON, Miss. – Craig Hennington, a Wesson, Miss. native, takes over the Co-Lin the golf team in 2018 as the head coach after serving as a volunteer assistant for 11 seasons. Hennington is a Co-Lin graduate where he was a two-year member of the golf team. After Co-Lin he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi before earning his master's degree from William Carey College in mathematics.

Hennington served as the head golf coach at Sumrall Attendance Center in 1995, and from 1997 to 1999 he served as the head junior high and the assistant high school football coach at Enterprise Attendance Center.

Hennington has served as a mathematics instructor at Co-Lin since 2000 and was the recipient of the Ann Bradberry Award which is presented to a faculty, staff, or instructor of the college who the students feel have made an extra effort to assist students. He has also served as the past president of the Wolf Hollow Golf Association.

"I'm really looking forward to a great season," Hennington said. "We have some talented sophomores returning in Lucas Brewer, Bryce Chapman, and Cameron Little, and I'm expecting a lot of leadership out of these players…we also have seven incoming freshmen that have already shown tremendous potential. These guys are great ball strikers and look to shake up our lineup with stiff competition."

The Wolves tee up the season on Saturday, September 22 at the Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Raymond, Miss. For more information on the Wolves visit colinathletics.com or follow @colinathletics on Twitter.
