WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's soccer team returned to action hosting East Central on Friday, October 7. The Wolves got a clean sheet, 3-0, victory over the Warriors to stay unbeaten in conference play.

"The boys started the game exactly how we wanted them to with tempo and dominance," stated Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave. "Alfie Lally and Zach Sorey were excellent for us today in the middle of the field which created multiple chances going forward."

The scoring started early for the Wolves as freshman midfielder Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) scored back-to-back goals in back-to-back minutes as the first came in the fifth minute with an assist from sophomore midfielder Will Ballenger (Brandon) while the second goal came in the sixth minute with an assist from freshman forward Yosvin Ramirez (Bogue Chitto) to make the score 2-0.

The 2-0 lead held for the Wolves throughout the remainder of the first half while the final score for the Wolves came during the second half as Ramirez scored in the 56th minute with an assist from freshman defender Caden McCullough (Byram) to make the score 3-0. The Wolves then stalled out the Warriors for the remainder of the match to secure the 3-0 victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved all four shots on goal he faced while playing 84 minutes of the match, while sophomore goalkeeper Joshua Patton (Jackson) made two saves on two shots faced in six minutes of play.

"We took our chances well and made it difficult for East Central to get anything going as our defense and goalkeeping were solid the entire match," added Cosgrave. "We just have to keep improving every game so we can peak going towards the end of the season and into the postseason."

Co-Lin improves to 8-1-2 overall, 5-0-1 in conference play, and will return to action on the road against Northwest on Friday, October 14. The action on the pitch between the Wolves and the Rangers will kickoff at 3:00 p.m., in Senatobia.
