Co-Lin fights No. 22 ICC, but falls 6-3

WESSON, Miss. - The Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln played a tough match against No. 22 Itawamba on Friday, but came up short, 6-3, after leaving everything on the court. 

"It was a tough day for our guys, but they all played very hard," said Co-Lin coach Dana Hale." Jordi and Julian had a big win at No. 1 doubles that was very impressive. We just have to keep looking forward and focus on the next match." 

Jordi Morey and Julian Tolozia played No. 1 doubles for Co-Lin and faced an extremely talented duo in Sergio Garcia and Franco Roldan from ICC. Morey and Tolozia battled for an 8-4 victory. Skyler Rasberry and John Ready fell to Reese Duncan and Hayden Embry at No. 2, 8-2, while Andrew Hulon and Tyler Leggett lost at No. 3, 8-0, against Jacambrian Madlock and Jackson Christ. 

Morey was in the No. 1 slot for the Wolves but fell to Roldan 6-3, 7-5 in a hard-fought match, while Toloza cruised by at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1, over Garcia. Rasberry fell to Duncan at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0, and Leggett dropped the No. 4 match 6-2, 6-1, to ICC's Embry. Ready played No. 5 for the Wolves, but fell to Madlock 6-3, 6-3. Samuel Boutwell played No. 6 for Co-Lin and after losing the first set 6-3, he knotted the second set at four-all. Itawamba's Torean King suffered an injury at that point and had to surrender the match.
