Wolves finish fourth in NJCAA Region Tournament
ELLISVILLE, Mississippi – The Co-Lin Wolves finished fourth in the NJCAA Region Tournament hosted by Jones College. Co-Lin could receive one of the at-large bids to the NJCAA National Tournament scheduled for May 13-17 at Collin College in Plano, Texas. Co-Lin's Valentino Millimaci was named to the All-MACCC Team.
In the first round, the Wolves avenged a regular season 6-3 loss defeating #4 seeded Meridian 5-4. Co-Lin (#5 seed) came away with a doubles win at No. 3. In singles action, Co-Lin's Valentino Millimaci gutted out a three set win over Sebastian Vaquero 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1. Simon Cooper defeated Denzel Jones 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, Landon Banes took care of Isaac James 6-2, 6-0, and Robert Adcock defeated Blakeney Allen 6-2, 6-2 to secure the win.
The Wolves fell to eventual region champion Jones College 5-0 in the semifinal round.
In Saturday's consolation round, the Wolves fell to Mississippi Gulf Coast (No. 2 seed) 5-3 in a very close match. In doubles, Co-Lin's Landon Banes and Robert Adcock came away with an 8-5 win. Co-Lin's Arne Sohmer (No.2) and Robert Adcock (No. 6) came away with singles wins.
