Five Lady Wolves Named To All-Conference Teams

JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) released the softball All-MACCC teams on Monday, May 23, and the Lady Wolves have five that have been named to the teams. Maddie Weeks (Clinton), Madison Moak and Abby Grace Richardson (both of Brookhaven) earned First Team All-MACCC honors while Faith Kivett (Tallulah, LA) and Josie Meggs (Kosciusko) earned Second Team All-MACCC.

Maddie Weeks has had a sophomore season that has seen her climb her way to the top of the record books as she broke the record for career RBIs and currently has 123. In 52 games played this season, Weeks has a team-leading 69 hits including 13 doubles, 3 triples, and 11 home runs with 62 RBIs and 53 runs scored which are all second-most marks on the team. Weeks also leads the team in batting average and on-base percentage at .445 and .494 respectively and has the second-highest slugging percentage at .781, while also stealing 16 bases this season. She has a .979 fielding percentage with 77 put-outs and 61 assists at second base.

Madison Moak has been featured in every spot in the outfield this season where she has posted a .973 fielding percentage with 70 put-outs and two assists. At the plate, Moak has 53 hits including 11 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 25 RBIs, and 46 runs scored and 20 stolen bases. Moak has the third-most doubles and runs scored and second-most stolen bases for the Lady Wolves. She also has the second-highest average on the team at .424 and slugging percentage at .600 while also posting the fourth highest on-base percentage at .456.

Abby Grace Richardson has had a freshman season for the record books as she has broken the single season RBI record and has tied the single season home run record. The freshman has the second-most hits on the team with 64 while leading the team in doubles, home runs, and RBIs with 17, 20, and 70 respectively while also having the third-most triples and stolen bases with two and 17 respectively. She also leads the team in slugging percentage at .906, while posting the fourth highest batting average and third highest on-base percentage at .400 and .464 respectively. The freshman also has .978 fielding percentage with 142 put-outs and 32 assists while splitting time at catcher and shortstop this season.

Faith Kivett had a strong sophomore season for the Lady Wolves as she had 58 hits in 52 games played including the third-most doubles at 11 and a team-leading five triples. Kivett had 38 RBIs, 46 runs scored and the second-most stolen bases with 20 while posting a .347 batting average, .401 on-base percentage, and a .473 slugging percentage. The sophomore also had a .911 fielding percentage with 59 put-outs and 54 assists while splitting time between shortstop and centerfield during the season.

Josie Meggs had a superb sophomore season for the Lady Wolves as she has played in all 53 games so far. Meggs has the third-most hits on the team at 61 including the fourth-most doubles with nine and a team-leading five triples while also accounting for 36 RBIs. She also led the team in runs scored and stolen bases with 56 and 37 respectively while posting the third-highest batting average at .415, the second highest on-base percentage at .491 and a .544 slugging percentage. Meggs also posted a .936 fielding percentage with 45 put-outs and 87 assists while playing third base for the Lady Wolves.

The Lady Wolves currently have a program record of 44-9 (the most wins in school history) and have made it to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Spartanburg, South Carolina for the first time since 2008 after winning the program's first Region 23 Championship also since 2008.
