Three Lady Wolves Signing with Senior Colleges

WESSON – Coming off the best season in program history, the Co-Lin Softball team recently celebrated the signing off three members of the team to senior college. Maddie Weeks (Clinton) has signed with the University of Southern Mississippi, Faith Kivett (Tallulah, LA) has signed with Southeastern Louisiana University, and Belle West (Byram) has signed with Belhaven University.

Maddie Weeks finished her Lady Wolves career with the record for career RBIs finishing with 127 in her two seasons. Weeks played in 110 games across two seasons as the second baseman posting a .403 batting average, .468 on-base percentage, and a .748 slugging percentage with 131 career hits including 22 double, nine triples, and 24 home runs. She also had 41 career stolen bases, 116 runs scored and a .967 fielding percentage with 147 putouts, 142 assists, and was part of 15 double plays. Weeks has earned two-time First Team All-MACCC honors in her career as well as All-Region 23 Team, NFCA All-South and All-American honors as well being named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators.

Faith Kivett played in 108 career games across two season for the Lady Wolves at the shortstop and centerfield positions. Kivett posted a .387 batting average, .448 on-base percentage, and .517 slugging percentage with 133 career hits including 18 double, 12 triples, and one home run. She also had 69 career RBIs, 47 stolen bases, 106 runs scored, and a .911 fielding percentage with 140 putouts, 147 assists, and was part of nine double plays. As a freshman Kivett was named First Team All-MACCC and All-Region 23 while as a sophomore she has earned Second Team All-MACCC and was named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators. Kivett was also named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player of the Tournament during the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series.

Belle West finishes her Lady Wolves career with 84 games played as a utility player posting a career batting average of .337, a .447 on-base percentage, and a .553 slugging percentage with 64 career hits including 12 doubles, one triple, and nine home runs with 53 career RBIs. West also had nine stolen bases while posting a career fielding percentage of .923 with 42 putouts and 42 assists. West also made 49 appearances in the circle for the Lady Wolves with 37 starts and a 28-8 record with two saves and nine complete games. In 178 innings pitched she allowed 83 runs, 64 earned, on 152 hits with 42 walks and 127 strikeouts while posting a 2.52 era and strikeouts per seven innings pitched rate of 4.99.

The Lady Wolves finished the 2023 season with a program record for wins at 49-10, claimed their first Region 23 Championship since 2008, and won the first national title in school history winning the NJCAA Division II National Championship in Spartanburg, South Carolina on Saturday, May 27.
