Five Lady Wolves Named to All-Region Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After winning their first Region 23 Championship since 2008, the Lady Wolves have five members that have been named to the All-Region 23 Team. Cara Biswell (Brandon), Abby Grace Richardson (Brookhaven), Maddie Weeks (Clinton), Madison Moak (Brookhaven), and Belle West (Byram) pulled in the honors for the Lady Wolves.

Cara Biswell started three games for the Lady Wolves in the tournament and was 2-1 overall pitching 18 innings allowing nine runs on 13 hits with nine walks and 13 strikeouts. Biswell set the tone for the team throwing back-to-back complete game wins for the first two games of the tournament as the Lady Wolves beat MGCCC 6-1 and PRCC 6-4.

Abby Grace Richardson played in all six games for the Lady Wolves posting a .400 batting average for the tournament with three double, two home runs, five RBIs, and four runs scored.

Maddie Weeks played in five game for the Lady Wolves posting .385 batting average with one double, three home runs, eight RBIs, and four runs scored.

Madison Moak played in all six games for the Lady Wolves posting a .353 batting average with one double, two home runs, six RBIs, and five runs scored.

Belle West played in all six games for the Lady Wolves either in the outfield or pitching. At the plate, West posted a .294 average with two double, one home run, four RBIs, and two runs scored. In the circle, West made three appearances with two starts and had a 3-0 record throwing 16.1 innings while allowing four runs, two earned on eight hits with six walks and eight strikeouts.

West and Moak both hit home runs in the championship game against Jones while Richardson and Weeks hit two home runs each during the game.

The Lady Wolves went on to set a program record for wins while finishing 49-10 and won the first ever national championship in school history at the NJCAA Division II World Series in Spartanburg, S.C. on May 27.
