Bio

Drake Flowers has been coaching the Lady Wolves softball team for six seasons under head coach Meleah Howard. Flowers has held a major role in recruiting, composed scouting reports, assisted with practices, and coached first base. He served as interim head coach February-March 2021 while Coach Howard was on maternity leave. 

Flowers is a graduate of Brookhaven Academy and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. While at Ole Miss, he was a student assistant for the women’s basketball team and a student assistant for the Brookhaven Academy boys basketball team. Flowers was a member of the Lady Rebels coaching staff when they appeared in the Women’s NIT Basketball Tournament and three Southeastern Conference Women’s Basketball Tournaments.

After graduation, Flowers was hired as assistant girls and boys basketball coach and English teacher at Copiah Academy in 2018. Flowers coached in the boys state championship game in the 2018-19 season and was named as the head girls basketball coach in the 2020-21 school year. Flowers also served as head coach for the boys and girls basketball teams for the 2021-22 school year in addition to serving as assistant softball coach, a position he has held since 2019. In the 2023-24 school year, Flowers will be the head girls basketball coach, assistant softball coach, high school English teacher, and assistant athletic director.

In his time as an assistant at Co-Lin, Flowers has helped lead the team to three regional appearances including hosting the Region 23 Softball Tournament in 2022, a MACCC championship in 2022, a number one national ranking for the first time in program history in 2022, a Region 23 Championshipd in 2023, and the first National Championship in school history in 2023.
