Lady Wolves make strong showing at National Tournament
TYLER, Texas – The Co-Lin Lady Wolves finished their season with a strong finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I National Tennis Tournament in Tyler, Texas this week. The Lady Wolves tied for 16th place out of 28 teams with 10.5 points.
Co-Lin made it to the consolation semifinal rounds in # 2 singles, #5 singles, and #2 doubles. In singles action, Wallace State's Italia Jones defeated Co-Lin's Cami Mordiz 8-3 at #2 and USC Sumter's Laura Kotala defeated Co-Lin's Makaela Rummells 8-5 at #5.
Co-Lin's #2 doubles team of Sophie Sisson and Ally Everett fell to Andjela Mrvaljevic/Andrea Pulido of Barton CC 8-0.
The five Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) teams made a strong showing at the tournament, Jones College (tied for 7th), Meridian (tied for 9th), Mississippi Gulf Coast (tied for 12th), and Northwest Mississippi (tied for 16th).
