Wolves pick up first win with 9-0 victory over Holmes

WESSON, Miss. - The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves picked up the first win of the season on Saturday, February 8 as Co-Lin downed Holmes Community College 9-0. 

Samuel Boutwell and Duncan Falvey paired up at No. 1 doubles and defeated Blaike Langston and Micah Douglas 9-8 in a tight match that saw a tiebreaker. The Wolves outlasted the Bulldogs in the extra set, 7-3. Skyler Rasberry and John Ready suited up for No. 2 doubles, while Tyler Leggett and Andrew Hulon prepared to play No. 3 doubles, but both matches were won by default. 

Rasberry played No. 1 singles for Co-Lin and cruised by Holmes' Langston, 6-0, 6-1, while Leggett defeated Douglas 6-4, 6-1. Preston Ivey was in the No. 3 slot for Co-Lin and blanked Tyler Mosely 6-0, 6-0. The remaining singles matches were won by default for the Wolves.

Co-Lin was originally scheduled to take on the East Central Community College Warriors on Tuesday, February 11 in Decatur, but due to weather, the match has been postponed until March 3. The Wolves will be back on the court on Friday, February 14 when Co-Lin hosts the Hinds Eagles in Wesson at 2 p.m.
