Co-Lin Women’s Tennis Named MACCC All-Academic Team of the Year  

JACKSON– The Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) recently announced the 2023-24 Co-Lin Women's Tennis team achieved the highest GPA in the conference for their sport, with an impressive overall grade point average of 3.81. This outstanding academic performance ranks as the second-highest GPA of any sport in the MACCC conference, finishing only behind Co-Lin Men's Golf. 

"Great job to our women's tennis team as they are always competing for the top spot in GPA in the MACCC," said Athletic Director Bryan Nobile. "Awesome job to our student-athletes and coaches with juggling their course load and tennis schedule." 

The Lady Wolves tennis team roster includes Yariange Bello and Camila Mordiz of Caracas, Venezuela; Ally Everett of Wesson, Mary Mars of Philadelphia, Marley Nelson of Monticello, Adyson Parks of New Hebron, Ann Clark Van of Jayess, Abril Neto of Cantanhede, Portugal; Makaela Rummels of Brandon, and Sophie Sisson of Moss Point.

The Lady Wolves concluded their season with an impressive 12-6 overall record and a 6-3 conference record, securing a fourth-place finish in the MACCC. Bello received Women's Tennis All-MACCC team honors. Additionally, the doubles team of Bello and Mordiz posted an outstanding 8-1 record, finishing as MACCC Doubles runners-up. 

Capping off their successful season, the Co-Lin Lady Wolves made a strong showing at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I National Tennis Tournament in Tyler, Texas. The team tied for 16th place out of 28 teams, accumulating 10.5 points.
