Six Teams Honored as NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) recently announced the Academic Teams of the Year for the 2023-24 school year on Thursday, July 18. The NJCAA honors all teams that achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher as Honorable Mention Academic Teams of the Year while highlighting the 32 individual teams with the highest GPA in each sport. Co-Lin had six teams make the list while having two of those teams earn the distinction of holding the highest GPA in the individual sport those being Golf and Women's Tennis with a 3.91 and 3.81 respectively.

Co-Lin is one of only four institutions that were multiple team champion award winners while the golf team narrowly missed holding the highest GPA in the nation of any team by .01. Other teams making the academic teams of the year were baseball (3.2), women's soccer (3.61), softball (3.5), and men's tennis (3.53). Women's soccer and men's tennis both finished in the Top 10 within the NJCAA in their respective sport with soccer taking the tenth spot while tennis was fifth overall and was the second-highest GPA from within the MACCC for their sport.
