Soccer Trio Earn Postseason Awards

JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) announced the All-MACCC recipients for men's and women's soccer on Friday, November 15. Co-Lin Soccer had three players earn spots on the teams with the men taking two spots as midfielder Yohan Bedoya (Bogota, Colombia) was named First Team All-MACCC and forward Hudson McIntyre (Brandon) was named All-MACCC Honorable Mention while midfielder Emmi Cook (Chesterfield, England) was named Second Team All-MACCC to claim a spot for the Lady Wolves.

Yohan Bedoya, a freshman midfielder from Bogota, Colombia, had a solid a freshman season for the Wolves as he finished second on the team in both goals and assist with seven and six respectively. Bedoya played and started in all 15 games this season and had the second-most total points on the team with 20 while accounting for the most shots on goal this season with 30. He had two multi-goal games this season for the Wolves, both on the road, against East Mississippi and Northwest.

"Yohan had a great first season for us," stated Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave. "He is a very creative player who linked up a lot of play for us this year. I'm excited to see how much he improves for next season."

Hudson McIntyre, a freshman forward from Brandon, also had a strong freshman season for the Wolves where he finished with the third-most goals and assists with four each. McIntyre played in 14 games with 12 starts for the Wolves and had eight shots on goal this season. He had one multi-goal game scoring both goals for the Wolves at Stone Stadium as they handed the Eagles of Hinds their first loss of the season.

"Hudson was a threat all season for us with his pace," stated Cosgrave. "He scored some big goals for us in big games. I'm glad that he's getting the recognition he deserves."

Emmi Cook, a sophomore midfielder from Chesterfield, England, had an outstanding second season for the Lady Wolves as she led the team in assists with seven and had the third-most goals with two. Cook played and started all 14 games for the Lady Wolves with 13 shots on goal. Both of her goals came in a multi-goal game on the road against Meridian while she also had three assists in one game for the Lady Wolves in their win at home over the Lady Eagles of Hinds.

"Emmi is excellent from set pieces," said Cosgrave. "She assisted a lot of goals with her deliveries into the box and her two goals against Meridian were huge for us in that part of the season. I'm glad that her efforts are being recognized for this season."

Both the Wolves and Lady Wolves made it to the NJCAA Gulf District Quarterfinals this season, but were eliminated from the playoffs in those rounds.
