"Cookie Wilkinson is playing outstanding for us right now. Not only is she leading us in scoring, but she is also leading us in steals and is consistently one our top rebounders and assists getters," stated Co-Lin women's head coach Dr. Britta Stephens. "Night in and night out, she makes our team better by doing the little things. As one of our only sophomores, she has been a great leader for us all fall and has worked very hard to teach and encourage our freshmen. I am very excited for Cookie to receive this honor. She puts in countless hours of extra work and is very deserving of this honor."
Deven Bates had a solid week for the Wolves as they went 2-0. The freshman guard from Jackson started his week with an 18-point and three rebound performance against Baton Rouge Post Grad in a 107-84 win. Bates then followed up with a 30-point and four rebound performance in the Wolves 95-60 win over Delgado. "Deven is the kind of player that coaches love to have on their team," stated Co-Lin men's head coach David Sanders. "He comes in early and stays late and earning this is a testament to his focus and determination. We need him to stay consistent and fearless for the rest of the season."
