
Seven Wolves Earn All-Conference Honors
JACKSON – The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced the members of the North and South All-Conference Football teams on Wednesday, November 17. The Co-Lin Football team had seven sophomore members of the Wolf Pack named as members of the South All-Conference teams.
Punter Bryce Lofton (Sand Hill) took away First Team All-Conference honors, while running back Drexlan Allen (Hattiesburg), wide receiver Tyquan Henderson (Canton), offensive lineman Jalen Armstrong (Calhoun City), defensive lineman Lamarcus Faulkner (Oxford), linebacker Jamal Pye (Byhalia), and defensive back Abdural Lee (Starkville) all received Second Team All-Conference honors.
Lofton had a strong year for the Wolves averaging 40.9 yards per punt across 60 punts during the season with a total yardage of 2,451 yards. Lofton also had 29 punts within the 20-yard line, eight punts resulted in a fair catch, while six went for a touchback.
Drexlan Allen was the feature running back for the Wolves this season starting in all seven games he played this season. Allen finished with 473 yards on 77 carries with three touchdowns. His 67.6 yards per game placed him 16th in the nation in that category, while his 6.1 yards per carry was the 15th best in NJCAA rankings. Drexlan's best performance came in the Wolves road victory over Pearl River, where he ran the ball five times for 161 yards with two touchdowns and averaged 32.2 yards per carry.
Tyquan Henderson finished the season with 35 receptions for 599 yards and four touchdowns for the Wolves this season while starting in all nine games. Henderson averaged 62.1 yards per game giving him a spot in the Top 20 of the NJCAA rankings both total yards and yards per game. Henderson's final four games for the Wolves were his most productive as he had at least four catches and 85+ yards those contests with his best performance coming on the road against Hinds where he hauled in 11 receptions for 135 yards.
Jalen Armstrong started all nine games for the Wolves at center. Armstrong was the anchor for the Wolves offensive line and helped lead a Wolves offense that averaged 278 yards per game overall and 310 yards per game in South Division play. The Wolves also averaged almost 24 points per game during South Division play for the season.
Lamarcus Faulkner started all nine games at defensive tackle and accounted for 33 total tackles for an average of 3.7 tackles per game. Faulkner also had 3.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss, and one pass breakup during the season.
Jamal Pye started at middle linebacker for all nine games this season and accounted for 53 total tackles averaging 5.9 tackles per game. Pye also had one sack and 2.5 tackles for loss during the season.
Abdural Lee started at defensive back in all nine games for the Wolves this season. Lee led the Wolves with 91 total tackles and 10.1 tackles per game and both marks were Top 10 in the NJCAA rankings. Lee also had 3.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and three pass breakups during the season.
