Wolves Running Back Earns National Honor

CHARLOTTE – The Co-Lin Football team ended their season with a 44-14 win over Northeast Mississippi and had a standout performance from sophomore running back Deantre Jackson, Jr.

The Marrero, Louisiana native set three new career highs during the game when he carried the ball 12 times for 164 yards with three touchdowns and averaged 13.7 yards per carry. The yards, touchdowns, and yards per carry were the career highs in the performance. He had scoring runs of five, 11, and 46 yards during the game. The performance by Jackson, Jr., already earned him MACCC Offensive Player of the Week, but now he can add NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week honors to his weekly awards after the announcement that was made on Wednesday, November 6.

For the season, Jackson, Jr., rushed the ball 90 times for 682 yards with eight touchdowns. In nine games played he averaged 75.8 yards per game and had a 7.6 yards per carry average while losing only one fumble throughout the season on the ground. Jackson, Jr., was also a factor in the passing game hauling in 13 receptions for 110 yards with two touchdowns for an average of 8.5 yards per receptions. He had a longest rush of 87 yards and a longest reception of 27 yards this season.
