Wolves Drop Game to Bulldogs

GOODMAN – The Co-Lin Men's Basketball team returned to conference play with a road game against Holmes on Monday, February 5. The Bulldogs beat the Wolves, 88-75.

The Wolves and Bulldogs traded baskets and leads throughout the first half, but the Bulldogs used a late surge to take a 39-31 lead over the Wolves as the teams entered the locker rooms at halftime.

The Bulldogs grew their lead in the second half, but the Wolves battled back to within single digits late in the half. However, the Bulldogs used a late surge to hold their lead and then secure the 88-75 win over the Wolves.

The Wolves had four players in double digit scoring as Courterius Scott (Jackson) led all scorers with a new career-high in points at 26 while adding three rebounds, four assists and one steal. Devin Carter (Edwards) had 17 points with two rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Emmanuel James (Nigeria) posted a double-double performance with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Avaughn Johnson (Jackson) had ten points with four rebounds.

Trevon Taylor (Jackson) had six points and Ismail Rashid (Jackson) had two points to round out the scoring for the Wolves.

Co-Lin is now 11-6 overall, 3-2 in conference play, and returns to action hosting Jones on Thursday, February 8. Tip-off between the Bobcats and Wolves is set for 7:30 p.m., at Mullen Gym in Wesson.
