Aaron McIntyre Named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

Wesson, Miss. - Aaron McIntyre starts his first year as assistant coach for the Wolves Basketball team. The Southaven, Mississippi, native attended DeSoto Central High School where he played for the Jaguars. After graduating in 2015, McIntyre began his coaching career in 2016 as an assistant coach with Jones Elite AAU. He went on to become a head coach for various age groups throughout the organization and ultimately became co-director of Jones Elite.

"I am excited about the hire of a young, enthusiastic coach that brings his energy to the team every day," stated head coach David Sanders. "His expertise will be instrumental in helping the team's performance and developing our player's skills."

Starting in 2021, he joined the staff of the Memphis Hustle, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Grizzlies, where he served as film coordinator. He also contributed to the operations staff of the Grizzlies in that role until the end of the 2024 regular season.

In 2022, McIntyre joined Desoto Christian Academy High School as the JV and Varsity Boys' Basketball Assistant Coach. During his time there, he helped lead the Varsity Boys' team to a second-place finish in the district championship in his first year.

McIntyre graduated from the University of Memphis in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Sport Management from Arkansas State University.
