Cortez Mitchell begins his first season as men’s basketball assistant coach.

Mitchell comes to Co-Lin after spending the last two years as the video coordinator for Charleston Southern University. He also has previous coaching experience from Milton High School from 2019-2021.

Mitchell played high school ball for current Wolves head coach David Sanders at Callaway High School where he was a three-time state champion. After graduating from Callaway, Mitchell then played for two years at Pearl River Community College where he was part of a state championship team for the Wildcats and was All-Region 23 for both seasons. After graduating from Pearl River, Mitchell then went on to play at Charleston Southern where he was a two-year starter for the Buccaneers.

Mitchell holds an associate of arts degree from Pearl River and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Charleston Southern.
