Wolves capture third in MACCC Event #4

WESSON – The Co-Lin Wolves captured third place in the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference (MACCC) Event #4 at Wolf Hollow Golf Club. The Wolves finished with a two-day total of 629 (315-314)

The team from Meridian Community College won the tournament with a two-day total of 612 (312-300) three shots better than second place Northeast Mississippi 615 (313-302). Mississippi Gulf Coast finished one shot behind the Wolves in fourth place at 630 (316-314). Southwest (321-331) and Itawamba (323-329) finished tied for fifth at 652 followed by Hinds at 685 (352-333).

Individually for the Wolves, Nick Davis finished in fourth place at 152 (75-77) and was named to the All-Tournament team. Ty Brewer had the next best score at 161 (85-76) followed by Ty Nelson at 163 (85-78), Jordan Davis 164 (81-83), Landon Nobles (74-93) and Seth Beall (85-82) at 167.

"We have some guys coming around and playing like they are capable," said Co-Lin head coach Allen Kent. "It was good to finish third, so hopefully, we can build on this."

Meridian's Ethan Dyess (74-71) took medalist honors winning in a two-hole playoff. He and second place finisher Tate Dickerson (74-71) of Northeast Mississippi finished tied at 145. Jake Kilcrease of Northeast Mississippi finished in third at 150 (77-73) followed by Brett Baker of Southwest at 153 (73-80), Hayden Green (77-77) and Matt Wilkinson (77-77) and Presley Wade of Meridian (78-76) all tied for sixth place.
