Co-Lin finishes in fourth in weather shortened MACCC tournament

MERIDIAN – Inclement weather and lightning forced the cancelation of the second round of the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference's (MACCC) Event #5 hosted by Meridian Community College. Scores from the end of yesterday's first round will be used for the tournament.

"We are showing glimpses of being a better team," said Co-Lin head golf coach Allen Kent. "it's only a matter of being more consistent and making better decisions. Middle of the pack is where we've been the last two tournaments, I'm not happy about it, but we are improving."

The Co-Lin Wolves finished yesterday's first round in fourth place with a score of 317. No. 6 ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast finished the tournament one shot (301) in front of second place Northeast Mississippi Community College (302) and two strokes ahead of Meridian (303). Rounding out the team scores, Southwest Mississippi (333), Itawamba (336) and Hinds (360).

Individually, Co-Lin's Jordan Davis (Murray High School) and Nick Davis (Catholic High School) tied for 10th place at 77. Landon Nobles (Alexandria High School LA) finished at 81, Ty Brewer (Wesson High School) and Seth Beall (Purvis High School) were at 82 and Ty Nelson (Lawrence County High School) was at 95.

 

NEXT UP | Co-Lin will play in the MACJC Event #6 at Quail Hollow Golf Club in McComb hosted by Southwest Mississippi Community College March 29-30.
