Wolves finish eighth in East Central Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, Mississippi – The Co-Lin Wolf Pack golf team finished in eighth place in the second event of the Mississippi Association of Community College Conference's golf tournament held at Dancing Rabbit Country Club in Philadelphia­­­­­. The tournament was hosted by East Central Community College.

The Wolves started the day in a three-way tie for third place at 308, but faltered in the second round with a 320 for a total of 628.

Mississippi Gulf Coast captured first place with a 575 (280-295). Meridian and Northeast Mississippi tied for second place at 603 (308-295) followed by Hinds 610 (313-297), Jones (311-304) and East Central (314-301) at 615, East Mississippi 620 (307-313), Southwest Mississippi 642 (320-322), Itawamba 647 (328-319), and Pearl River 722 (355-367).

Individually, freshman Oscar Toreld (Binnerback, Sweden) led the way with a two-day total of 150 (74-76) followed by Lander Guibert (San Sebastian, Spain) at 155 (74-81), Harlan Brewer (Wesson) at 163 (78-85), Jaime Hernandez (Palma De Mallorca, Spain) 164 (85-79), and Reese McLaurin (Laurel) at 166 (82-84). Myles Walters (Laurel) competed as an individual, fired a 163 (82-81).

East Central's Will Thompson captured medalist honors with 135 (68-67).

The Wolves will be back in action on October 16-17 in the Jones College Invitational at Laurel Country Club.
