Wolves finish sixth in William Carey MACCC Showcase

HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – The Co-Lin Wolves finished in sixth place in the in the William Carey MACCC Showcase held at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg.

No. 1 ranked Mississippi Gulf Coast captured first place firing 2-under par. East Central claimed second place at +11 followed by Jones (+12), Hinds (+18), Meridian (+19), Co-Lin and East Mississippi (+24), and Pearl River (+85).

"We had a couple of guys falter down the stretch," said head coach Allen Kent. "It's very disappointing when we know what we are capable of. Conditions were great for scoring we just didn't get it done except for Oscar. He had another solid round."

Once again, the Wolves were led by freshman Oscar Toreld (Binnerback, Sweden) who shot 72 that put him in a four-way tie for sixth place. Other individual scores for Co-Lin included Harlan Brewer (Wesson) 77, Lander Guibert (San Sebastian, Spain) 78, Reese McLaurin (Laurel) 82, and Myles Walters (Laurel) 86.

Next up for the Wolves is MACCC event #5 on March 18-19 at Shiloh Ridge Golf Club in Corinth.
