Wolves Compete at Jim Redgate Invitational
MERIDIAN – The Co-Lin Men's Golf team returned to action this week participating in the Jim Redgate Invitational, the third event of MACCC play, on Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8. The Wolves finished in fifth place in the event.
The team shot an opening round of 309 (+21) on Monday, and then had a second round of 299 (+11) for a total of 608 (+32) for the event. Lander Guibert (San Sebastian, Spain) and Oscar Toreld (Binnerbäck, Sweden) led the team and finished tied for seventh place with a two-day total of 147 (+3) for the event. Guibert shot 76 (+4) on day one and rebounded with a 71 (-1) on day two while Toreld shot 73 (+1) and 74 (+2) on his two rounds. Max Seidemann (Bruchhausen-Vilsen, Germany) made the most improvement throughout the tournament for the Wolves shooting a day-two score of 71 (-1) after an opening round of 80 (+8) for a two-day total of 151.
Harlan Brewer (Wesson) shot a two-day total of 163 while Owen Siegfried (Brandon) finished with a 166 to round out the scoring for the Wolves.
This comes one week after the Wolves finished sixth in the second event of MACCC play with a two-day total of 594 (+34) after shooting 293 (+13) on day one and 301 (+21) on day two. Toreld made the All-Tournament team for that event with a two-day total of 142 (+2) shooting a (+1) 71 for both rounds while Seidemann finished at 148 (+8) and Guibert finished at 149 (+9).
The Wolves will have a week off and then return to play with the fourth event of MACCC action at Castlewoods Country Club in Brandon on October 21-22.
