Bio

After 16 years at the helm of the Lady Wolves softball program and a two-year hiatus, Allen Kent begins his fourth year as the Wolf Pack golf coach. Kent is no stranger to the game of golf having played for nearly 25 years. He is no stranger to coaching a winning program as he led the 2008 Lady Wolves softball team to NJCAA National Runners-Up, the highest finish of any Co-Lin athletic team, and placed third in the NJCAA national tournament in 2006. 

Kent has been voted MACCC and MAC Coach of the Year three times and the NJCAA Region 23 Coach of the Year twice. He has also received two Mississippi Association of Community College Coach of the Year Awards from his time on the diamond.

His Lady Wolves were MACCC South Division Champions in 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2009, while finishing runners-up in 2003 and 2005, and MACCC State Champions in 2006, 2008, and 2009.

Under Kent’s direction, the softball program produced two NJCAA First Team All-Americans, three NJCAA Second Team All-Americans, and 10 NJCAA Academic All-Americans.

A 1982 graduate of Brookhaven High School and a 1984 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Kent was a two-year starter for the Wolf Pack baseball team. He graduated from Mississippi State University. He is a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Kent also served as the college’s director of housing and the Student Government Association advisor until the end of the 2022-23 academic year. He and his wife, Wanda, have one son, Colby (Erica).
