DECATUR – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team returned to action on the road against East Central on Tuesday, September 5. The Wolves and Warriors ended the match in a 2-2 tie.
The Wolves jumped ahead early as Holloway Willsey (Starkville) beat the Warriors keeper with a header from a corner kick by Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) in the seventh minute of the match. The Wolves then added their second goal in the 29th minute as Edward Bond-Upton (Doncaster, England) blasted the ball past the Warriors keeper from outside the top of the box to increase the lead to 2-0 which held throughout the remainder of play.
The Warriors then scored goals in the 46th and 50th minutes to tie the game. The Wolves then picked up a red card in the 58th minute forcing the team to play the remainder of the game with ten players on the field and with a strong defensive showing keep the game tied for the remainder of play to end in a 2-2 tie.
Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) made five saves on seven shots on goal throughout the match.
Co-Lin is now 0-2-2 overall and will return to action with a road contest against Mississippi College JV on Tuesday, September 12 at 3 p.m., in Clinton.
