Wolves Drop Contest to Bulldogs

PERKINSTON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team hit the road to continue MACCC play against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College on Tuesday, September 19. The Bulldogs beat the Wolves, 4-1.

The match was scoreless throughout the first 32 minutes of play, but the Bulldogs broke through first finding the back of the net in the 33rd minute and then again in the 36th minute to take a 2-0 lead. That lead held as the horn sounded for halftime.

The Wolves could not take advantage of some early scoring opportunities in the second half as the Bulldogs added goals in the 73rd and 75th minutes to increase their lead to 4-0. The lone goal for the Wolves came in the 87th minute as Benjamin Mckenna (Dundee, Scotland) had a rebound off the Bulldogs keeper land at his feet and then put the ball in the back of the net to make the score 4-1.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved eight of 12 shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin returns to action with their home opener against East Mississippi on Friday, September 22. The action between the Lions and Wolves kicks off at 3 p.m., in Wesson.
