Wolves Draw With Bears

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team returned to action by hosting Southwest on Friday, September 29. The Wolves and Bears finished the match in a 1-1 draw.

The Wolves got on the board early as Edward Bond-Upton (Doncaster, England) beat the Bears keeper with an assist from Conner Turner (Brandon) in the fourth minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Wolves continued to press the attack throughout the first half but could not extend the lead while holding off the Bears attack to hold the 1-0 lead at halftime.

The Wolves finished the final three minutes of the first half and then played the entire second half with a man disadvantage due to a red card. Despite the man down disadvantage, the Wolves stalled out the Bears attack for most of the second half. However, the Bears managed to tie the game with four minutes remaining while neither team managed to find the back of the net to secure a late win ending the game with the 1-1 tie.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved seven of eight shots on goal faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin returns to play on the road against Itawamba on Tuesday, October 3. The action on the pitch between the Wolves and the Indians kicks off at 3 p.m., in Fulton.
