Wolves Draw With Eagles

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer returned to action hosting Meridian in conference play on Friday, October 6. The Eagles and the Wolves finished the match with a draw, 4-4.

The Eagles got the scoring started as they took the lead with a goal in the 11th minute of the match. However, the Wolves responded just one minute later as Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) tied the match with a goal off a free kick in the 12th minute.

The Wolves then took their first lead of the match as Park Smith (Cleveland) beat the Eagles keeper with an assist from Lally in the 25th minute. Smith's first goal of the season made the score, 2-1. The Wolves lead was short-lived though as the Eagles scored two goals in the three minutes taking a 3-2 lead after the 29th minute.

However, the Wolves once again responded by tying the match in the 30th minute as Lally scored his second goal of the match on another free kick making the score, 3-3. The match remained tied throughout the remainder of play in the first half.

The Wolves regained the lead as Francisco Miquel (Bogota, Colombia) scored an open net goal with an assist from Lally making the score, 4-3 in the 61st minute. Once again though the Eagles found a way to tie the match as they scored in the 82nd minute with neither team finding a fifth goal to take the match as it ended in a 4-4 draw.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved five of nine shots faced on goal throughout the match.
