Wolves Shutout Bulldogs

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team returned to MACCC play hosting Holmes on Friday, October 13. The Wolves earned their second-straight clean sheet in a 4-0 win over the Bulldogs.

The Wolves got their scoring started early in the first half as Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) converted a penalty kick attempt in the 15th minute making the score, 1-0. The lead was extended to 2-0 as Francisco Miquel (Bogota, Colombia) beat the Bulldogs keeper with an assist from Park Smith (Cleveland) in the 24th minute.

The final goal in the first half came in 31st minute as Lally beat the Bulldogs keeper on a free kick to extend the lead to 3-0 while the Wolves used a strong defensive performance to keep the Bulldogs offense at bay throughout the remainder of the first half.

The final goal for the Wolves came in the 62nd minute as Edward Bond-Upton (Doncaster, England) blasted a ball past the keeper from the top of the box making the score, 4-0. The Wolves then allowed just two shots for the remainder of the game by the Bulldogs to secure the 4-0 victory.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved all four shots he faced on goal throughout the match.

Co-Lin improves to 3-5-5 overall, 2-3-3 in conference play, and will return to action hosting Northwest on Tuesday, October 17. The action between the Rangers and the Wolves kicks off on the pitch at 3 p.m., at H.L. Stone Stadium in Wesson.
