Wolves Drop Home Finale to Wildcats

WESSON – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team finished the home portion of the regular season with a match against the Wildcats. The Wildcats beat the Wolves, 3-1.

The Wildcats took a lead midway through the first half scoring their first goal in the 27th minute and then extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 35th minute. Despite having multiple scoring opportunities throughout the first half, the Wolves could not find the back of the net to cut into the lead and trailed 2-0 at halftime.

The Wolves cut the deficit down to one goal as Conner Turner (Brandon) scored with an assist from Edward Bond-Upton (Doncaster, England) making the score, 2-1 in the 65th minute. However, the Wildcats added their third goal in the 67th minute and then stifled the Wolves offense for the remainder of the match to take a 3-1 win.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved eight of 11 shots faced on goal throughout the match.

Co-Lin is now 4-6-5 overall, 3-4-3 in MACCC play, and will wrap up the regular season with a match against East Central on Tuesday, October 24. The action on the pitch between the Wolves and the Warriors kicks off at 7 p.m., in Decatur.
