Wolves Season Ends at Region 23 Quarterfinals

ELLISVILLE – For the second straight season, the Co-Lin Men's Soccer team made postseason play earning a berth in the Region 23 Tournament. The Wolves went on the road to face off against the Bobcats of Jones on Friday, October 27 and dropped the match, 4-1.

The Bobcats took an early lead with their first goal in the 13th minute and then managed to hold off an offensive flurry by the Wolves including a potential game-tying goal that nicked the crossbar and the following header by the Wolves went over the goal.

The Bobcats added a second goal in the 37th minute to increase their lead to 2-0. However, Alfie Lally (Manchester, England) cut the deficit in half with a goal from a free kick into the top right corner making the score, 2-1. That score held throughout the remainder of the first half.

The Wolves then came out in the second half and had several opportunities to potentially tie the game but could not find the back of the net. The Bobcats then scored goals in the 69th and 72nd minutes to make the lead, 4-1. The Bobcats then stalled out the Wolves offensive opportunities for the remainder of play to earn the 4-1 win and end the Wolves season.

Leo Summers (Cornwall, England) saved seven of 11 shots faced throughout the match.

Co-Lin finishes the season with an overall record of 4-8-5, 3-5-3 in conference play.
