SENATOBIA – The Co-Lin Men's Soccer team continued conference play with a road match against Northwest on Friday, October 25. The Wolves beat the Rangers, 3-1.
"I was very happy with how many chances we were creating in the offensive build up," stated Co-Lin head coach Tom Cosgrave. "We looked dangerous every time we went forward."
The Wolves got on the board first midway through the first half as Yohan Bedoya (Bogota, Colombia) beat the Rangers keeper in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Just three minutes later, Francisco Miquel (Bogota, Colombia) found the back of the net to increase the lead to 2-0 in the 28th minute. That score held as the horn sounded for halftime.
The Wolves increased their lead late in the second half as Bedoya got a brace for the match with his second goal off an assist from Alvaro De La Torre (A Coruna, Spain) making the score, 3-0, in the 78th minute. The Rangers scored their lone goal in the final minute of the match as the Wolves secured the 3-1 victory.
Jaime Duran (Madison) saved five of six shots on goal faced throughout the match.
"It was a nice reward for our guys to bounce back with that win and help prepare us for the regular season finale against Southwest," added Cosgrave.
Co-Lin is now 7-4-2 overall, 4-4-2 in MACCC play, and will return to action on the road against Southwest to wrap up the regular season. Kickoff between the Wolves and the Bears is set for 7 p.m., in Summit.
