Wolfpack tennis defeats East Central

WESSON – The Wolfpack defeated the East Central Warriors 6-3 on a windy afternoon in Wesson. Co-Lin (2-0) will host Meridian on Saturday with matches beginning at 11 a.m.

"The boys received solid play from sophomores Sebastian (Osorio), Juan Pablo (Pinilla), Tripp (Case), and freshman Braden (Ishee)," said tennis coach Brenda Smith. "The match of the day was at No. 1 singles with Osorio winning in straight sets."

The Wolfpack took victories at No. 1 doubles with Co-Lin's Sebastian Osorio and Juan Pablo Pinilla defeating EC's Tom Langelaar and Joseph Jabour 8-2 and Tripp Case and Braden Ishee defeated Emantus Lewis and Woffard 8-2 at No. 3. The only loss came at No. 2 doubles as EC's Willie Wooten and Landon Gibson defeated Co-Lin's Tripp Wyatt and Sebastian Harrell 8-2.

In singles action, East Central picked up wins at No. 3 singles as EC's Jabour took care of Wyatt 6-0, 6-1 and Isaac Keen defeated Co-Lin's Bishop Barlow 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6. The best match of the day came at No. 1 singles, as Osorio defeated Langelaar 6-3, 6-4. At No. 2 singles, Pinilla blanked Wooten 6-0, 6-0, Case defeated Lewis 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, and Ishee took care of Gibson 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5.
