Wolves fall to No. 10 Meridian

MERIDIAN – The No. 10 ranked Meridian Eagles were too much for No. 19 Co-Lin as they took a 6-3 win over the Wolfpack yesterday. Co-Lin (4-3) host Jones County on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. The match was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

"The men lost to the strongest team from top to bottom we've faced so far as Meridian is ranked 10th in the nation," said Co-Lin tennis coach Brenda Smith. "We were led by sophomore Sebastian Osorio who won at No. 1 singles and doubles with partner Juan Pablo Pinilla. Pinilla lost at No. 2 singles in a second and third set tiebreaker. We also picked up a win at No. 4 singles as Tripp Case won his match in a tiebreaker."

In doubles action, Osorio and Pinilla won Co-Lin's only match defeating Will Swindoll and Lachlan Ivulich 8-6 at No. 1.

In singles action, No. 1 Osorio defeated Marko Puric 6-1, 6-3 and Case picked up the win at No. 4 defeating Callan Shinall 6-4, 0-6, 10-7.
