Co-Lin defeats Holmes 8-1 in tennis action

GOODMAN – The No. 19 Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolfpack defeated Holmes Community College Bulldogs 8-1 in tennis action on Wednesday. The Wolfpack swept all three doubles matches and won five of six singles matches.

"The day after a tough Holmes match, the men won another critical match on the road 8-1 showing strong performances down the line-up.," said tennis coach Brenda Smith.

In doubles action, Sebastian Osorio and Juan Pablo Pinilla defeated Dallas Elmore and Marcus Montfort 8-3 at No. 1. Braden Ishee and Sebastian Harrell beat Joshua Maughan and Nic Bails 8-3 at No. 2 and Tripp Case and Tripp Wyatt took care of Christopher Stuckey and Hernandez 8-1 at No. 3.

In singles action, No. 1 Osorio blanked Elmore 6-0, 6-0 and Pinilla defeated Montfort 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. At No. 3, Ishee took care of Jacob Hawkins 6-1, 6-0 and Case beat Maughan 6-0, 6-1. Co-Lin's Wyatt beat Rylee Artman 6-1, 6-3.

The Wolfpack (7-3) travel to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Wednesday, April 11, with matches beginning at 1 p.m.
